And Now For Something Completely Different…

Hello world,

I haven’t posted as much as I would have liked over the past few weeks and I thought I’d give a little update on where I’m at.

So, in just one month, since I returned from a ridiculously good trip to Prague, I’ve been through a break up after 5 long years and I’ve now begun planning my career as a content marketer but it’s early days so I’ll have more on that v. soon. I’ve set my sights on relocating to Canada or the U.S. later this year. (I want to get a couple of festivals in before I go tbh).

I’m channelling every fierce bitch that I know from now on so that I can achieve my goals. Anyway, my new job is with a start-up company. I’m working as an e-commerce assistant for an online vintage store called AdeWears. I’ve also begun working on an exciting new project called along with my sister and my mother. Our aim is to help bloggers and lifestyle entrepreneurs grow their businesses online.

This is an awkward picture of me at the John Lennon Wall, Prague.

Everything became a little bit overwhelming so I took a little break from writing so that I could clear my head. I’ve spent a lot of my days off in full on chill mode. I’ve been partaking in the usual procrastination activities; binge-watching the show Transparent (which is brilliant btw), re-arranging my bedroom etc. I’ve started re-reading an inspirational book called You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Yourself and Start Living an Awesome Life by the wonderful Jen Sincero. It’s essentially a self-help book written by a punk. It’s unconventional and it’s weird but it works.

I’ve also been listening to a crazy amount of podcasts over the last few months. I’ve always had trouble sleeping and I find that they really help me to relax at night (Top tip for my fellow perpetually anxious beings!). In fact, I might write up a small listicle of my favourite podcasts.

Despite being in a bit of a slump, I have a few great posts planned for the new year. I’ll be releasing weekly Etsy Finds posts focusing on Christmas gift ideas for the pop culture nerds in our lives. I also have a very nice Get The Look post in the works, and it’s going to be a good’un.

I’m really happy with the direction that my blog is going in, I’m seeing more and more people reading my posts which gives me lots of warm fuzzy feelings as well as the motivation to carry on writing. I’m really looking forward to getting back into the swing of things. Thanks so much for reading and don’t forget to follow The Pop Cult on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook.
